I looked at a bunch of different flames and then I decided to make it mine and drew out a bunch and stood over my buddies shoulder nearly drove him crazy...all the way through the process. I learned a lot, like how to lay tape, and how much work goes into a decent paint job, good thing my painter and I are friends...
just type flame templates in a google search. Admittedly I may have gone a little flame crazy...
Why in the world would you want to paint flames? Don't you realize they're outdated, and nobody really likes em anymore? LoL Good choice, you'll love em.
Unless you were being facetious...why even post this?
I have used a sign shop that makes vinyl signs as they have a computer program that they just pick a flame design and download it to a sheet and I trace off of that.
On bike tins, it is almost impossible to use a stencil. PM me and I will guide you through the whole process of laying out your desing using fine line tape. You will have a much cleaner job doing it that way. I'm a custom painter and can help you start to finish.
Yes you can get true fire templates online. Check out Mike Lavallee/Killer Paint Airbrush Studio. Best to start with templates like that until you develop the flair for freehand.
You can also get stretch mask for use on compound curves like like tins.
