Default Ceramic paint on exhaust

I have a chrome Python 2 - 1 exhaust that I really like, but want to go black. New black exhausts are $700-800 and up. I was thinking about having it ceramic black painted.

Does anyone have good or bad experiences in this area?
Please send pix too.

Done!

I just put black monster ovals on and had my heat shields on my pipes coated. $85 perfect match. Only had them on for 2 days no pic yet. But both the coater and V&H say use warm soap n water only to clean the finish. The coater said its just a paint so it can scratch. I tried a screwdriver on the inside of the shield and it did scratch it.

I've got a set of slip on's that are ceramic and seem to scratch really easy. Haven't even put them on the bike yet. Think I'll get them powder coated.

how is it "just paint" if it's called "ceramic?"

I thought ceramic coating was something "better" than just powder coating, which is basically just paint?

powder is paint and plastic really, but ceramic coating is completely diff than powder it is shot in liquid, can take much more heat, your heat shields do not get close to that hot, where ceramic can take more heat powder is 100xs more durrable and the finishes are night and day diff.
I woudl assume that by just paint he means it is just painted on and can scrach super easy, that is true.

So powdercoat is more durable, but less heat resistant

learn somethin new every day.
