Stock vs mod. Dependabilty

Ha guys was just wondering i have a stock fxdwg thats very dependable now a 1993- 80inch evo 1340cc but i want to wake it up,cam, head work, rings ,ignition , pipes...question is will it be that dependable after its cracked open.and will i notice that much of a difference.

If you do the right combination of parts, you will be pleased for awhile at least.Dependability will not change,it all depends on how you treat and maintain your machine

I have had my 96 modded since it was almost brand new. 21K on it without any trouble. Maintenance is everthing but I also ride it, it is not babied! When you start doing major stroker Engines, high compression ratios, they will not last as long.... Piston travel speeds increase with stroke increases. A mild Cam will have about no effect at all on engine life.

I put a woods cam in my 99 EVO when it was almost new and put over 30,000 on it with no problems at all. Just don't go to high with the compression and you should be fine.

An 80" Evo is a great motor, and with a cam and a little head work will be reliable with more torque and HP.
