Default Painted My Helmet (PICS)

I wanted to do something to make my helmet pop a little more. I read an article on ChopCult and figured it didn't look too difficult. I still need to wet sand, stripe, and clear it but I am happy with the results considering I have no artistic ability or painting skills. It isn't perfect but I did it instead of spending $200 to have someone else do it. The edge around the graphic will be under a black pinstipe and should hide the few spots where the paint bled under the pinstiping tape. I'll post some more pics when I get done with it.

After painting before removing masking

After pulling all the tape

Looks badass for a guy that does not do it for a living. You give all of us that are artistically challenged hope... LOL Good job man!

Thanks. The hardest part was laying out the outside line of the panels. Once I did the first part of the burst pattern it got easier. It took about 3 hours to get it to the point it is now. Some people use a shield to paint the burst but I taped and masked each one individually so I had to wait for each section to dry before I could tape over it to do the next one.

icecaps- the second link you posted is the one I was refering to. The first one was done by a pro painter but has a lot of good tips in it. I'm going to do one for my wife next and will try some more difficult patterns.
