I keep everything in my wallet. For all the reasons posted, and there's no reason to leave any paperwork on the bike.

In my wallet.
But if you have to leave them on your bike
do this
Make copies of your documents, write on them
" Operator must show Photo ID"
Then laminate them.

I never carry registration papers on any personal vehicle. Not required in TX. Carry ins. card in wallet but don't like sitting on wallet with my tender butt so carry wallet in my boot with knife and pistola.

OK, usually there's only my foot, sock and wallet in my boot. Usually.

Mine is stashed under the seat In a seal-able plastic bag taped to the underside of the seat. Hell if they steal my bike they already have my Serial number and plate number, Not quite sure what they could possibly do with my insurance policy number.

Other than the incredible extra weight that you registration and insurance cards hold, Why would anyone want to stash it on their bike!?
