Just bought a used 2007 Electric Glide Classic and was told by another HD rider that I should have alarm fob that came with bike as standard equipment. I don't have one that came with the bike. If it is supposed to have one do I get it from HD and does it have to be programed? If so can I do it or does it have to go to a dealer?? Thanks

 

The proximity fob doesn't come standard. You have to purchase the security system to get it. If there is already a system on the bike you can go through your dealer to get a new fob. If not, you'll have to buy the system. There is also an optional siren that you can get as the basic system only has the ignition kill and flashing lights.

 

Yeah, if you can start the bike without a fob, you don't have the system.

 

It's an option,but pretty sure 07 will start without the fob.It was manually activated,08 later is not.The dealer should be able to tell though.

 

My 07 RK has the Alarm/fob and it will not start if the fob is more than 15 feet from the bike. When I walk away from the bike it gives two distinct chirps upon arming itself. It will not start and if the bike is tampered with a shrill and loud whistle sounds and the lights flash. I was told, that if you loose the fob while you are riding the bike, it will continue to run until the ignition is cut off, then it won't start without the fob.
If you turn on the ignition with the fob in your pocket the bike will chirp once, when it disarms itself.

 

That, or the system has been disabled from the dealer.

 

My 07, my son's 07 and my bil's 07 have the security system that arms itself and won't let the bike start without it. I never knew the system could be disabled by a dealer.

 

My lo has the security system, plus the siren II with pager,the pager can detect someone tampering with my lo a 1/2 mile away.

 

My 07 RK has the FOB, automatically arms itself, I installed the Radio Shack $6 siren, works great

 

My bike has the security system with the fob as well minus the siren. Where did you mount the siren? Got any pics to share??? Would love to see how it looks.
