Snohomish here .My folks live on Whidbey not far from the Bridge.
I am not sure what route you are going to take to get into western WA but like someone said the HWY 20 over the North Cascades is a great ride, stay on it HWY 20 is the main HWY on the island.
As far as most beaches being private that is not true most are open to the puplic with many state parks as well.
Chuckanut drive north to Bellingham is a good ride on your way to Victoria.
Another option is to take ferry out of Anacortes to Victoria it takes you through the San Juan Islands one the crown Jewels of the great NW.

Right on, great to see a handful of neighbors here. Maybe if we all get together and petition, we could get some decent weather here to ride in. I mean, I had a great ride on Sunday, but this one day on the bike, 5 days off don't work for me. Feel like a freakin cager. Anyone know were I can get updates on swap meets and the likes? I just started riding again last summer and have never riden here in the area, never followed and events. Also, who all is heading out to Sturgis this year? Interested in hearing about the best route to take, one that gets me there in 4 days and still lets me see something besides the *** end of a truck on the interstate. Thanks!
