I always thought the blue dot tail lights were just like those rainbow stickers that some folks put on their back windows of cages!!

Just sayin...

In today's world, I wouldn't chance it. It would be PC to stop you and give the entire bike a once over, and you a handful of tickets.
TFF, if you have a handful of other violations on your ride, blue dots are the least of your worries.

True, but, if you do have a bunch of violations, do you really want to initiate those consequences by having blue dots out there readily visible? Scenario: You're riding along and all of a sudden, there's flashing lights behind you. Officer Joe pulls you over. He walks up to you and explains that he pulled you over for the illegal blue dot on the back of the bike. He gets your license and insurance, gives the bike a walk-around, then returns to his car. Next thing you know, he's returning to you with a ticket for the blue dot, a ticket for aftermarket exhaust, a ticket for expired insurance, and arrests you for driving under suspension.

Without the blue dot, you're home in an hour. With the blue dot, you have $2,000.00 in fines/bond with a court date and court costs for the DL issue.
