I was riding the other day when all of a sudden a bee hit my goggles and ended up inside my helmet under the right ear flap. You guessed it.... OUCH. Not a good thing to be dealing with when cruising in traffic at 50mph.
I know how you felt , one time I had a bee fly up inside my fingerless glove and desided to stay awhile and sting me between the fingers . At a time I couldn`t just pull over , had to beat the snot out of the little bugger against the handle bar to make him stop !
Not on my bike... but that pic really gave me the heebies.... I was mowing Saturday afternoon on the JDeere and apparently went over a yellow jacket/ground bee nest... they got me good before I could get in the house and get them off me. I came back and sure enough I had left the tractor running when I ran...my son had to go over to get it shutdown and we had to wait until that night to move it cause they were swarmed on it. It's front wheel was stuck in their hole and the rears where just slipping in the grass.
Oh the pleasure I had pooring the poison AND gas in their whol the next night. Of course I looked at my back this morning and still have huge welts all over from them boogers... thankfully I am not allergic.
me and my girl were doin some yard work last sat morn before a nice long ride
well, she pull up some weeds, and here they come! freakin ground jackets
got her 4 times in the arm, and me 3 times, one in each hand, and one in the leg
well, needless to say the ride got canceled due to the swelling!
she had it worse then me, her arm was like a trash bag filled with air!
stayed like that for 5 days!
yea, there were some nasty chems dumped in that patch of mulch
My brother and I were riding back from the Budddy Stubbs Hogs and Dogs last month when he alla sudden lurches his bike and pulls into a parking lot. He pulls his helmet off and starts rubbing his head while making this aahh aah sound. I knew what had happened and tried to look concerned but im afraid it came out more like this[sm=laughat.gif] It gave me a lot of ammunition for the helmet no helmet debate. Now every time he puts on his helmet I make buzzing noses, he thinks its really funny![sm=smiley2.gif]
Last summer I was riding on a Delaware country road, corn fields both sides. I saw something like a large bug come from my left, it hits me in the cheek and is fluttering. The wind musta be keeping it there, I brushed it away I thought, but then felt a sting on my chest. I grabbed with my glove and when I looked it was a hornet. I've always heard they can sting more than once and I can tell you they can. Sucker stung me five or six times[:@][:@] Buy that evening it looked like I was growing a boob on one side.
