DUST!! wash it or wipe it??

Wait until you wash it if you want to avoid scratches in the clear coat. I only wash the bike once every couple of months. My bike gets dusty real quick too as I live on a really busy street and the gardeners use their blower near it every week. A little dust never hurt anything. My bike is vivd black as well.

C'mon up this weekend and ride with us along the lake, the lake flies will cover up and absorb all the dust.
Seriously, NEVER WIPE! Dust is like fine grit sandpaper. If you wnat to go dry, get a California Duster, the small car-dash model works great. You can always use a spray detailer, also, otherwise, hose her down.

Wiping it will probably cause scratches.
Ride it, use a leaf blower or compressed air (from a clean source).
I'd wash it.
Pledge furniture polish will reduce the amount of dust that collects and make it blow off easier.

California Duster here, then Lemon Pledge and a micro fiber cloth. I only wash the bike when it gets really dirty. But my clearcoat is already scratched anyway just from riding the bike. I bought it to ride it not polish it.

Wiping it dry will scratch it, no matter how soft a cloth you use--the dust is abrasive.
If the dust is light, blow it off with air. If it's really dirty, wash it.
