1963 HD Topper Scooter
Hey guys. I was walking through my friend's "mid-century modern" furniture store yesterday and saw a scooter in the window. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was a 1963 Harley Davidson Topper. I talked with my friend about it and he said that the motor had been rebuilt 6 years ago but had never been fired up due to a mystery electrical problem. It's not in perfect shape, but is kind of cool. He wants $2500 for it. Aren't these things pretty rare? Just wondering if anyone here knows anything about them. Thanks!

Pretty rare but not that valuable according to NADA. But, like anything else, it is worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it.
Harley Davidson Topper Model A
This is the only motor scooter that H-D ever produced in their 105+ year history. Only approximately 3,000 of these scooters were built during the model run from 1960 through 1965, and less than 100 are currently believed to remain worldwide.
NADA Value:
Excellent: $5750
Very Good: $3550
Good: $1925
Fair: $950
Poor: $700
There is one on ebay (with a sidecar).

Looks way cool. but maybe at half or less than that $2500.00.
That one needs lots of attention. I've never seen one around my city, but their could be one locked up somewhere.

Just showed my 13 yearold daughter and said I would get her one to cart her and her 7 yearold sister around (she says that thing is ugly!!!)....I said yah but it's a Harley come on!!!!

It is the image of "scooter" like this one, that makes me resent referring to my motorcycle as a scooter by others. I don't use that term when referring to my Ultra. So demeaning!
