From the dashcam he was setting on his bike. He did what any of us would have done and turned around to look at the cop. His hand was clearly on on right thigh and left was pulling the clutch.
This dude is in the WRONG and should pay for his mistake! Several years in prison and the fine sounds about right!!!

I can understand the cop being cautious. The courtroom section asks questions about the position of the riders right hand while he was looking back at the officer. It was close to a position where a gun "might" have been located so I don't blame the officer for being on high alert at that point.
Having said that, the officer had his gun drawn down on a person who essentially had his back to the cop. There was no way the rider was going to draw a weapon and accurately aim it before the cop could get off several rounds. I think the cop definitely acted prematurely. Yes, it was a tense situation from his point of view, because they can't "assume" anything during a stop like that, but they're also supposed to be trained to not jump the gun (no pun intended) either. Personally, if I were on that jury, I'd be voting for jail time on this one. It'll be interesting to see what the final verdict ends up being!
My condolences to the victim and his family!

Why? It is Harley Davidson important. If I get pulled over, I need time to put the bike in neutral, & I need to know how to turn & address the police without being shot. Last time I clicked on this subject, I was told I was not authorized to understand. I'm not cop bashing or mod bashing, but I don't understand.

Two lives ruined by two dummies.
One dummy lights it up in front of a cop.
One dummy lets a badge and a gun go to his head. How well was this LEO trained. Makes me think he was not trained very well.
Which then makes me have to say the trail of dummies is getting longer.
Who gives a badge and a gun without proper training?
