Motorcycle insurance rate went up, up, and away!

I went to renew my motorcycle insurance policy and found that Geico had increased my rate from $233 to over $541. WTF? I called them up and a representative explained that Wisconsin had recently passed a law requiring higher minimums. Thus, the more costly policy. Those minimums are so far beyond what I reasonably need, it is ridiculous. You have to love legislators who think they know what is best for you. I would also bet any money there were some speaking out in support of the bill that claimed it would reduce insurance rates for motorists. Nice! I seem to recall a similar debate on the national scale. Hmmm?
Anyway, where have you guys and gals gone to get the lowest cost insurance rates? I've gotten quotes from Progressive and Geico so far. I was hoping to uncover some good deals from the smaller, lesser known providers.

I pay under $300 a year for full coverage on an 09 Fatboy with
www.bike-line.com
And this includes 2k in accessories and road side service. Gieco is a bunch of douches, I would never give them a cent of my business. They are known to donate radar guns to police departments.

Yea, after the wife and I took a spill last year(about $5000.00 to fix) I'm scared to find out what my premium will be this year, even If I get a quote...was paying about $450.00 a year with $500 deductible..

USAA = Progressive. I'm a vet and USAA member, but when I bought my current bike in mid-2008 USAA did not cover mc's -- so I got a pretty good rate from Progressive. I'm curious to see what Progressive quotes for renewal in a few months, then I'll also get USAA to quote and see if there is any real benefit there.
FWIW, I've been a USAA member since 1971, and service now just ain't what it used to be!

Had progressive and same here no tickets or claims and they raised rates to over $540. I'm switching to Markel ( Bike-line ) . Same coverage but added $10,000 medical for $387. a year
