Go to Ebay and type in "novelty helmet" and you'll find tons of them, many with pictures of people wearing them.

Yes and each one of those folks will be an idiot. Can the novelty helmet and get some real protection.

But to each his own.

I now wear an UnderArmour beanie - it gives me "real protection" from the sun.

I just love how you think those of us wearing novelty helmets are idiots. I guess you know everything don't you. One smart guy. With a big mouth.

Well at least I agree on the smart part. On the mouth part... think I typed everything. Not a word spoken.

And yes.....wearing a novelty is not an act of intellect... No justification of same based on copious amounts of grey matter... The only thing that I can figure out is that you think it is cool or bad *** or something.

As long as you are in a no helmet state though.... I support your right to wear it.

But to each his own.

Well first of all I don't need a guy to come here acting like my Mother telling me what kind of head protection to wear. Im a grown man and can make up my own mind thank you. Another thing, I went down hard at 70 mph a year ago. I got knocked off my bike by a mattress that flew off a truck. My novelty helmet saved my head in a big way. I wear my novelty because it fits my head better then any DOT helmet ever will and provides adequate protection. It's got nothing to do with how it looks or anything else for that matter. So why don't you go flame about peoples helmet choice somewhere else. The OP wasn't asking for stupid comments on what you think is safe or not.
