Go online and search for push-button controls and stuff. There are companies like Pingel who make push-button, and electric shifters, with the buttons on the grips. I'm not familiar with the braking setup on the Can-Ams, but it may be possible to have a linked setup like on some Hondas (the Blackbird, for instance) - you could seet up linked braking so the hand brake does both the front and rear brakes.

Pingel is where I'd start - they've been making air & electric shifters for years. E-mail them; they may have ideas for you.

Braking will be a challenge. Does anyone make a power brake setup for bikes?

Since this will be an overall technical challenge he should be open to other bikes - i.e. HD Trike. More market saturation could lead to more aftermarket options to employ.

Kudos to your frien for pursuing his dream despite the difficulty.

And kudos to you for helping. Good luck. Keep us posted with progress.

Try www.pfmbrakes.com to see the twin master cylinder lever set. You can run brake & clutch or both brakes. ( phone # 44-1624-845245) I just ordered a set for my new ride (arm amputee) & will control front brake, clutch & throttle with my right hand. Good luck to your friend!

ETA. A Pingel push button shifter should complete the mods for him. He can also visit www.forum.disabledbiker.co.uk They have a section for wheelchair adaptations.

I'm a double amp and ride a 2007 honda 1300 vtx trike i have a pingel electric shifter, i don't use the pingel modules but use 2, 5 pin relays for the wiring, i have modified the rear brake to be controlled by the hand lever, both front and rear brake controlled at the same time. You will have to install a larger master cylinder, very easily done.

I have a desire to get in to riding it has been a lifelong dream. I was born with no fingers on my right hand and need to figure out modifications for the left hand, I can do everything else, ride a bike, swing a hammer. Could use some direction and ideas
