I would liked to have kept my first bike, but my first Harley still sits in my garage. I thought about letting it go, but screw that. I don't know what I'm saving it for - maybe for some special lady to ride someday, or something. But I don't want to get rid of it. I'd hate to see someone else with it.
I sold my trusty 1998 Dyna. That bike Never, I repeat Never failed to carry me home. It was a high mileage bike over 100k and I bought it brand new but it was still in MINT condition and mechanically perfect. I love my new Street Glide, but do miss blasting around on that old evo. I wish I had kept it. The guy I sold it to, my best friends son wanted it so bad, and I really thought he would take good care of it, but I saw it yesterday and it looks like sheit. Already a huge chip in the front fender and a dent in the tank where he got mad at his wife and punched the tank. It was also absolutely filthy. It was a pristine clean bike two months ago. He's got a garage but I guess its so loaded with crap, the bike sits outside under a blue tarp. He's bitching at me now because there is rust forming in some of the chrome allen heads and on the custom spoked front wheel. Never sell a bike to friends of family!
+1, I totally agree. I sold an old BSA chopper to a friend of the family who wanted it bad. The guy ended up leaving it outside, rode it only a handfull of times, never washed it or did any maintenance on it. I ended up buying it back.
Punching your bike over some Woman?!?!?!, Shows you how much respect your friends son has for his machines. None.
