Default Motorcycle Jack

Looking to buy a motorcycle jack for maintenance on my bikes, both softails. Anyone have a suggestion as to which one I should get?

If you're looking for something very affordable (read cheap), you should check out Harbor Freight if there's one near you. They have a decent model that you can usually get for under $60.

Edit: Looks like more closer to $100, but I remember them being a bit cheaper. You may have to wait for one of their sidewalk sales or coupon deals.

There should be one out that way. If not, there's definitely one in San Bernardino.

If you want one you don't have to worry about straping your bike down to or having it fall off take a look at J&S. No straps needed and sturdy as a rock. Made in USA too.
If you order it ask for the softail spacers.

I'm partial to this style Sears and HF both have them for around $150+ light weight and easy to store I hang mine on a peg board behind the welder less than 25lbs or so . I would really suggest getting a dolly to set the bike on once up in the air instead of relying on the lift itself much more stable particularly if you pull a wheel or have to manhandle something ( the green thing in the pic , blue gives you the idea I like them taller ). You can move the bike around , I have several so I make good use of limited floor space by moving bikes around or pushing them outside or just " stacking " to make room . Most big parts catalogs should have them or make it yourself if got the tools and skills , costs me about $30 a stand mostly for the heavy duty wheels . Anybody wants to build one pm me I'll send you specs and some better pictures .

Thanks guys. Looks like the consensus is the J&S jack. Is the only place to buy it on their website? Whats the best price for it and where?

I was researching the OTC 1545
http://www.otctools.com/products/motorcycle_lift
Does anyone have any experience with this one, and if so, how does it compare with the J&S?
