Looking for back road maps
I am looking at taking some distance trips, but want to stay off the big asphalt. Maybe Cleveland to Myrtle Beach next spring, but dont want to do the 77 south for 500 miles. Are there maps that show good non-highway routes? I recall someone telling me about motorcycle routes that are scenic and not all highway. Any help?

Keep the Ohio one in the tour pack. Used it today.

Why do people make using maps act as if you have to be an Einstein or rocket scientist.
Google maps
Avoid Interstate roads, look for US routes, an state routes.
Try to go in a direct line as possible.
Usually better to go around cities instead of thru them.
Edit to add it's free. Can't do better then that.

Nearly all GP mapping programs will allow you to plan a route without using freeways, you simply set the system to avoid certian hings....

A few years ago I had heard that you could drive from the west coast to the east coast on a series of dirt roads that exist. If its still true to this day, thats incredible.

I think i read about that in a magazine somewhere. Few guys rode the whole thing from east to west coast and only touched pavement a couple times for road crossings and such. Obvously on a dirt bike and not a Harley.
