Euphoria
Well.....Holy cow...Now I know what all the hype is about.
Some of you may know I took delivery on my 07 SE Road King last week. Since I picked it up it's pretty much been raining. I took my MSF course this past weekend in the rain as well. At least I know what it's like to ride in the rain now.
Anyway. I had a crappy day at work but when I got home the sun was out.
I was pretty tired but then thought maybe I should take the bike out.
Well...Before I know it I had my gear on.
I've never ridden a bike before other then the MSF course (I've rode dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and snowmobiles all my life though)
Well....I head out. I intended on stopping by a parking lot by my house. Well, I was too comfey so I ride by. Decided to head over my buddy's house. Hang out there for about 15 mins and was going to head home. I told my wife I'd only be gone for 30 mins or so.
Well, I just couldn't stop riding. I ended up turning a 5 mile ride into 50 miles.
I'm hooked!
Can't wait for tomorrow.
All that crap I hear about freedom and everything on a bike - OH YEA!
Hehe...Glad I'm one of the club now.

RE: Euphoria
I've always wondered when the thrill would wear off. So far it hasn't. It's like being 16 YO with a license and a car. From 16-18 YO was the only time in my life, other than know, that I cruised for the sake of cruising. I ride my bike to work and back everyday, take it out for rides in the evening, and do 100-200 mile trips one or two days over the weekend. I've put in a couple of 700 mile plus day trips during the summer. Thinking of doing Sturgis next year, but don't want to get shot!

I've only been riding a little over 40 years and love it more every day.
Riding was my 2nd most favorite activity in the 60's, and is still 2nd - but - I must say that while the number one activity is still great, riding truly gets better with age.
Welcome to the club! You think you are hooked now? Just wait til you get to go cross-county for a week or so. Wake up every morning, eat, ride, smell the smells, stop anywhere to see the views (Yellowstone is a hoot on a bike).
Wave at every other person you see on a motorcycle, no matter what kind of bike they are riding..... It makes them feel good, it makes you feel good, and it drives the cagers crazy cause they think you know every other biker in town!
