If you drop a o-ring (used on drain plug) in the oil reservoir on a '10 Ultra Limited, will it go to bottom and cause a problem?..can't see down in there, I hope that's not where it went. Any suggestions?
I'd think Murphy's law would come into effect and that o ring would turn sideways and wedge somewhere and cut off your oil flow. How hard is it to take the oil pan off and remove the o ring and be safe? Much easier than an engine rebuild

I'm with these guys, it would freak me out. That rubber ring is small and will move about, eventually it will end up somewhere and that somewhere may not be good. Now, where is that rubber ring magnet?

Have you tried using a compressor hose around all of the external nooks and cranny's that the o-ring could be hiding? As far as the "rubber ring magnet" goes, try using a rubber glove and some plastic tubing on the end of your shop-vac hose and insert it into the crank case. Fish around and pull it out until you have caught the o-ring.

This is a good idea first. Why in the hell would oyu have your drian plug by the oil inlet? Remove the drain plug and lay it on the floor after whiping it off til it's time to reinstall it.
