It is. Harley bought the Aermacchi works in Varese Italy. The Sprints and the 2 strokes were made there. They kept making the 2 strokes until the mid 70s. I think the Sprint was done a little earlier.

Now that you mention it, I think I do remember hearing something like that.... Long, long, long time ago...Thanks.....I wonder if it would actually be worth anything or if it would even be possible to get parts for it...

The Sprints, especially the ones from the 60s are worth a little. The 2 strokes were never as good as similar vintage Jap. You can find parts for them.

Judging from the add someone thinks its worth $1000.
Looking at the picks it doesn't look like its been beaten up but it appears to be very neglected. A lot of cleanup and polishing.
In real nice shape it would probably be worth a little more than that. But as it sits that is a little too much.

i would love to have a nice sx250. had one 15years ago with a bad cdi, i went to a dealer for parts, they laughed at me and said good luck..if that thing had points i would still have it.. HD made all kinds of things in the 70's motorcycles,mopeds,bicycles,dirtbikes,snowmobiles, golf karts..and bowling equipment.. thankfully they never made airplanes that i know of

There are pages of parts for them on ebay. Just search "AMF Harley".

seems like i remember jay springsteen and other factory riders running something like this on the short track races in the old camel pro series.
