Default Harley flush mount fuel gas cap led gauge hd 62818-06d

I am thinking about getting this flush mount setup for my Heritage. BUT, am wondering if anyone that has it can comment on how accurate the fuel gauge LED light system is and if the flush mount fuel cap was a PITA or works ok. thanks.

The gauge is pretty accurate, but the gauge accuracy depends on teh flaot in your tank. My float has been out, bent a little and reinstalled so it's good. The fuel cap does not click when fully locked into place like the stock cap, but you just screw it on and push down and twist to make it flush.

Default Flush Gas Cap and Fuel Gauge

The gauge seems to be pretty accurate and the cap comes apart periodically. It can be a pain if other riders are waiting for you and your trying to put it back together. Some folks have had some of the fuel level lights burn out, but that was on the earlier model.....hopefully the production model now is fixed.

Default Flush mount

I have had mine for two years now and no problems. During my cross country tour this past June, I did 23 days of which 18 were wet and I mean serious rain storms but no problems or leakages. One word of caution, though. When you screw down the fuel cap don't over tighten, just turn it enough to engage the rubber seal then push it down. I like them a lot and they do give a nice clean look to your tank.

I love mine, the install wasn't bad at all. Many people complain about the LEDs going out, but mine have been going strong for 2 years. Haven't heard about the gas cap coming apart, but I've never had that problem.
