thats the prob with this country!! american icons need to be preserved and kept in america.

if we could return manufacturing back to the U.S. we would be in much better shape.

japan is facing the same problems with china and its rare earth metals problem, now china and india have the biggest economies and are a threat to asia!!!

What's the problem? Most all of your "Harley" today is made offshore. Assembled here perhaps, but NOT American Made parts.

Hey, MoCo! I got me an ideer! Just sell me the kit, some coherent instructions, a lift table, a tire stand, and a set of hand tools, and I'll build the kit at home. It worked when I built an airplane that way, and them things go faster than a Harley (and they're harder to pull over and park when the engine quits).

Hey now, we might be on to something. Wonder how much you could save by buying a kit and putting it together yourself ????

Its a global economy. They are doing what they can to stay afloat. Triumph has a factory there and they are exporting bikes from India. I wouldnt be surprised that if this does happend India made parts could and would end up on bike sold here in America, and why wouldnt they? Harleys already have Japanese parts and Itallian parts on our bikes now.

No. Triumph has a factory in Thailand. That's not India.

Before long HD will CLOSE the US plants and use the INDIAN plants and import the bikes to the US....Might take 10 years or more but they will eventually do it...It is CHEAPER to build them in India and ship over here than it is to build them here!! Great American Company Plan!!!

I hate a global economy!! It's global EXCEPT for the USA!!

I'm not convinced that India is the place to do it. How do we know how the metals industry is there. Seems like everything you see over there is just shit. Crazy wires hanging all over the place, garbage in the streets, smoke pouring out of tailpipes. It's like they don't pay any attention to detail. Yeah we ain't as good as we used to be but I believe we can out quality anybody over here. All the best Indian engineers are working over here, they ain't stupid.

:icon_moped: Hmmm.... I wonder if they call for phone support, will they get connected to an american in the US who tries to sound like an indian and says his name is Abu when it's really Bob?
