Default S&S , Revtech or Jim's tappets ?

Ok , so here I am again . I just did the inner cam bearing on my 95 Dyna not long ago and then I went and bought my Road King and now I need to do the cam bearing on it also . My question is , while I'm in there I might as well change the tappets too , right ? And if so , in order of best to worst , how would you rate S&S , Revtech and Jim's against eachother ?

Unless you have over 100,000 mi or a .6 or higher lift cam, I would not worry about it. If your rollers show wear, your cam lobes probably do too so cam and lifters need replacing. But to more directly answer your question, price would be my deciding factor from any reputable supplier.

After 25000 miles on a new cam, etc., I didn't like the sound my stock lifters were making. When we took them out, you could wiggle the roller and needle bearings would drop out. You can bet we counted to make sure none had gone into the bottom end.

Replaced with Jim's big-axle hydraulics. Another 50000 miles and still performing well and also very quiet. Hope that helps.
