Helmet video camera ?'s

I am thinking about getting a video camera for my bike. I use a PC so this figures into the equation as I was reading last night and some only record in the format for Mac. I can use quicktime, not a big deal, but i don't avhe any video editing software which would be a must if i were to do this. Is there anything that comes with their own editing software as I cannot shell out for Adobe premier right now?

If you have one post a video and your experience.

thanks!

Drew

Look at Oregon Scientific. I got mine with sound for less than $80.
I have had mine for a couple years and they don't handle the on I have anymore.
The new ones they have have displays on them as mine does not.
Still for $150, pretty good buy and they are waterproof.

Works great and has sound. Good color too with a very small foot print.

Edit: I use my cam with a couple of Freeware Windows compatible editors.

Not sure if I'm understanding your video editing software concern. Both Mac & Windows come with programs included in their software, and both do more than most users will ever be capable of learning.
Mac's is called IMovie & Windows is Moviemaker.
I've been tempted to get a helmetcam, but I've been using a regular camcorder for a couple of years and it does fine. Their are handlebar set ups for mounting them.

Here's one made by "Midland" offered by J&P Cylce Parts for $99. Looks like it has mounts for helmet and handlebars.

I was very impressed with the GoPro Hd on the first and thus far only run with it. I'm looking forward to putting it to more use before it becomes obsolete and I have to replace it.:) Got mine from Easternperformancecycles, one of the best vendors I've ever dealt with.

I got the helmet mount, windshield mount, chest mount, handlebar, engine guard, etc contraptions. I was pretty nervous with the windshield mount suction cup deal and rigged up a fail safe out of fishing line just in case it fell off. But it held strong. Haven't tried the helmet mount yet but I'll probably rig up a fail safe with that too. I'm a big believer in redundacy.

Haven't had time to get into the editing and publishing
stuff yet but sure hope to get to it soon. The vid and sound quality is outstanding and far exceeded my expectations.

Better products out there, I don't know. But I'm happy with the GoPro so far.
