Default Certificate of Conformity

I bought a used Harley with a VIN Starting with 5HD , now the insurance co wants a certificate of
conformity. I understand the bike was sold in Canada, But are there any differences between US
and Canada models.
TIA
Roy

1 = Made in U.S.A.
HD = Harley Davidson.......this off a list we use @ the tow lot....every H-D I/we have towed in has always began with a "1", but I did find this for ya :

"Beginning in 2003, Harley-Davidson bikes will have a "1HD" in the VIN if it is in fact an US/Domestic model (a "5HD" if i t is an international model). This change has been a long time in coming, and we're glad to see this development. Many of you may have unknowingly purchased what some call a "gray model Harley." A gray Harley is a bike that appears to be a domestic model, but in actuality was a converted International model. This new system will display the information right there on the frame for all to see and know."

Hope this helps, good luck with everything......

a family member and i used to import bikes from canada a few years ago when the dollar was still really strong and supply here in the states was much lower. really, the only way to tell was the vin number starting with a 5. in customs, we had to change out the spedo's from kph to mph and swap out the blinkers and tail lights. other than that, they were identical.
