Default 1957 Sportster, why not a replica model

Road Kings and some Softail models strongly resemble old Duo Glide's from the late 50's. I believe that is why they sell so good. That's what attracted me to my Road King.

I can't understand why they don't do that with the Sportster. Yeah some of the new ones look kinda cool, but that 57 model was a beautiful bike.

I'm sure they could do it right, with the headlight, bars, tank, paint scheme, horn, seat and shocks. No kickstart though ...

Well actually, they could based on the Sportster engine displacement. I think kick starters are obsolete due to better electric starter technology. To be honest, I had a kick start bike a long time ago. It was a pain in the ***.

Over the years the Sportster look has changed, most FLH bikes haven't.

A couple years ago the MoCo did make that '57 Panhead replica with the Elvis Presley Estate, looked really good too.

My last bike was a kickstart only. If they would go back to kickstart only bikes it would weed out the alot of the new pu$$ies that are riding nowadays. But hey, I'm just a hypocrite that now rides an '07 electric start only bike. So I'll shut up now.

I wasn't really all that serious about my earlier comment, but it would be nice to see some of the younger riders have to go through what some of us had to enter this obsession. After three knee surgeries and blasting a couple of disks out in the sand box, I wouldnt last through one whole weekend of riding on a kick starter.

It sucks getting old, but it beats the Hell outta the alternative.
