Default Tire Repair - Tires not Wheelii

60,000 and never a flat! Now two rear tire replacements in 7,000 miles. I have two good tubless tires in my garage with nail holes. Can these tires be repaired? The Harley dealer will not answer that question. I've heard both sides of the story, but I'm looking for some answers from people who have experience with these repairs. Thanks for good solid answers.

Are you running with innertubes or without?

Patch the hole on the inside of the tire and use them.

Both are rear tires and both are tubeless.

I agree, use a good patch and run them.

Take it to an indy shop and see. Every puncture is different. But if you patch it..do run an innertube in it as well.

I went to a tire repair shop and he told me that motorcycle tires are different on the inside than car tires. He said when you buff the inside of a motorcycle tire to apply a patch, the inside layer is so thin you get into the cords and the patch is ineffective.

Has anyone had any experience with applying a patch inside and what was the process for doing it.

Hell, my rear tire has a plug in it. I had forgotten about it. I'd much prefer a patch on the inside.
