I'm thinking about putting some chrome wire loom over my cables, including the brake line, throttle and clutch cable. Would anyone recommend not doing this? I'm about as mechanically inclined as a monkey (maybe less) If I remove an end of my brake line to slide this cover over am I going to end up with a mess? What about clutch and throttle cables? I just don't want to screw anything up as far as the function of these cables.
I'm kinda in the same boat, already have ss brakelines and clutch, but went to mini-apes and the wires are a bit tight. Just looking to cover the wires after I lengthen them. Was looking for something just to wrap around them. didn't see anything I liked in J&P.
I was slow to post, guess I'll run them thru the bars then. Don't want to waste money and time on something that looks like crap and doesn't last. Thanks for the input.

thanks for the replies. I guess my main concern was if there was any adjustments I would need to make putting the end of the brake, clutch and throttle cables back on. Is it just a simple take off, put back on kind of thing? I assume brake fluid will leak out everywhere and I willl need to bleed and refill? Will the clutch, throttle and idle need to be adjusted?

In order to get the slack you need to remove the throttle, idle, and clutch cables, you'll need to back out the adjusters for each. Getting them back into place is not rocket science -- no need to be intimidated by that stuff.
Bleeding the front brakes by yourself is a bit more of a challenge...You'll need some rubber bands, brake fluid naturally, and a lot of patience...
I bought so of those fake braided cable covers for my bike off ebay. Opened the box, threw them and the work bench, and they're still there a year later. I thought they looked cheap. JMHO
