i have been thinking about getting a vest because most of my friends wear them, however i can see no real reason to wear one. it gets *** HOT here in the summer and riding a heritage i can put my cell phone and other things in the windshield bag. the only reason i can think of is to hold my ipod and put patches on. am i missing any real reason to wear a vest? gtg

 

There are certain temperature ranges where a jacket is too much and a t-shirt isn't enough. My vest is perfect for those times. Keeps the core warm. And i like the way they look. I have no patches or pins on mine.

 

I've been thinking about one too. I wouldn't wear it in hot weather, but for chilly mornings, or when a leather jacket is too much it could be useful. I've also thought about getting a denim jacket and cutting out the sleeves, same purpose.

When I'm riding, I don't care how hot it is...I wear my leather jacket. A vest will not keep you from getting road rash as much as a jacket does. but...as in everything else discussed on this forum...do what yo want to do.
BTW...I also wear a vest under my jacket..so I can look cool when I take off my jacket.

i have a large HOG reflective patch on the back of my vest.... plus all the silly pins. :~)

i mostly ware mine because of the reflective patch on the back i use to ware the large bright orange Harley reflective vest, but i didn't really like it. so now with the HOG Patches on the back reflective, i have the large orange vest in my tour pak. that only comes out when it's dark and bad whether, which i dont ride in unless i get caught.

 

All my friends have financial problems or have filed for bankruptcy. Should I quit my job? or just stop paying bills?
