What year is this Knucklehead?
I figured there was a bit more traffic here than the Knuck specific forum.

Nice bike. I don't see the need for the extra peg between the back of the floorboard and the kick starter? By the way, Knucks are to me most handsome H-D's ever made, I'd like to have one

Bike has a Buddy Seat; that's the passenger peg.

Tank trim, at least what can be seen, looks like the 1941-1946 version. The main HD emblem is hidden behind the rider's leg. Also, the air cleaner appears to be the 7" version that debuted in 1941. Hard to tell, but the 1940 and earlier frames were 28 degree necks and the 1941 frames went to 29 degrees, and 1946 had 30 degree necks.
There were only a few 1942 models built before the freeze on non-essential war production. There are no "official" 1943 civilian models, but at least 38 were built. 1944 saw civilian models available to civilians. They had white paint on the oil pumps and lifter blocks because silver paint was not available. Silver returned mid-year 1946.
All info from Palmer's How to Restore Your Harley-Davidson.
Whatever year the bike is, it would look even better sitting in my shop!

my guess is 41 because of the tank trim bar.. no way of telling for sure with out looking for casting numbers, or the vin# on the engine.. lots of time for part changing in the last 70 years.
