My 12yo Son asked me to take him for a ride
My son asked me to take him for a ride on the bike the other day. I have never pushed motorcycles on him, although he has been in his fair share of Dealers over the years and does own a few H-D T-shirts
We went for a 20 mile ride and he loved it, he even asked me to drop him off at school the next morning. He did real well, never panicked or leaned the wrong way.....was a very cool and memorable moment, just thought I would share.
Here's a pic from the ride.

I'm glad he liked it. My 16 y.o. really has no interest and it's killing me. He likes his Honda "tuner" car though. My ex, his mom, works in an insurance defense law firm and looks at accident pictures all day long. She has totally freeked him out about riding.
Grrrrrr! there is a reason she is an ex!

My son used to love riding with me, now he is a teenager and its not cool to hang out with your parents he doesn't ride much any more. Plus the helmet messes up his hair.

Actually two sides to everything and my wife probably fills same way about me riding. You know, put your eye out thing. However I had a motorcycle when I was 16 and remember what I did. I will not ride my grandkids nor would I put them with a bike. Presently letting my Grandson do his behind the wheel in my car but that's a necessity. Bikes are like guns. You need to be responsibly for yourself when you do them. Just my opinion for my self. Just stating my side. Also not siding with you ex to say the wrong things. Just agree with her right not supporting it.

Just last week I talked with my wife about taking our soon to be 12 year old out for a ride. Wife was hesitant at first - she soon agreed to.
My argument was that I didn't want my kids to think it was dangerous- as long as you follow the rules.
I asked my son if he wanted a ride to his baseball game on the RK but he said no thanks. Kinda bummed me out but would never force it on him.
My 6 and 9 year old girls would give their left arms to ride but I think they're still a little too young.
Just my opinion.

My youngest son rides with me a lot. I have a small trailer I pull behind the bike so we can go camping on weekends, when my schedule and the weather cooperate.
The next kid, (daughter) likes to ride but isn't into the camping thing. Her older sister wants no part of riding. Then theres my oldest son, has a Rocker-C of his own.
They've all grown up around bikes but each made their own decision about them.
