Default Black reflectors?

I was just wondering if anyone had any luck with the nightshades stuff for taillights, putting it on reflectors. Texas law says I have to have one on the back of my bike. Im not digging the reflectors on the side of the bike, I dont have to have those but why not keep them, I just dont like the look.

The nightshades is a black paint that still lets light through Im just not sure if it would work on reflectors. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

buddy of mine tinted his tail lights in his car with night shades...
you really have to take your time or it will look like ***...
youd have to remove them to paint them...
and at that point your half way there to just getting rid of them entirely...
or spend hours taping off around them to ensure over spray didnt get all over yer bike...
it doesnt come out dark either, its multiple coats that lead to that cool smoked look your after...
i know light passes through the night shades via bulbs, not sure of reflecting light though..
you could go buy a bicycle reflector to test it on before you mess with your bike...

JMO...good luck...

Ask yourself - what are the odds of getting a ticket for no reflector?

Even then its probably just a repair order.

The 3M black reflective tape looks pretty sweet. It's black until the light hits it and then it lights up pretty good. I had some on a previous ride.

Thanks for the info, the black tape seems like the cheaper faster way to go.

Why use paint?

I have the black reflective tape mentioned above and it's damn good stuff. You can wrap a piece or two around a black frame part and you will be seen at night without those ugly reflectors. I also have a strip on the back of my black helmet that doesn't stand out during the day.
