Midnight Pearl and 103's?

Midnight Pearl and 103's?
I've got my name on an order for a 2012 Heritage Softail (FLSTC) in two toned Midnight Pearl/Brilliant Silver Pearl. They substituted Sedona Orange/Vivid Black with Midnight Pearl/Brilliant Silver Pearl. I've seen the 2012 color book. To me, Midnight Pearl looks like black metallic. The salesman said it is actually a really, really dark blue. If anyone has seen Midnight Pearl live, please describe it. I know the color sample book does not do it justice. What actual color are the metallic flakes? Does it change shades as you move around? I feel like I'm waiting for a mail order bride. I've seen pictures, but I need to know what the real thing looks like. No, I don't have a mail order bride. Please only respond if you have seen it on a bike, or on a tin, or something better than the color book. Also, someone was telling me how they just bought a 2011 FLSTC (not the softail convertible) from a dealer in another state, and was offered a 103 engine at no extra cost. Does this mean softails will get a 103 for 2012? It might mean that dealer was actually hard up to make a sale, which would be incredible.

I did get to see midnight pearl today, INDOORS, on a 2012 road king that came in. From a distance, it looks black. Up close, it looks like it it's got a layer of medium to dark blue small metallic flakes over the black. It probably would look good outdoors. It may not sparkle like merlot or the root beer colors, but I expect it will look good. Salesmen say they won't know about if softails are getting 103's until after the dealer meeting. I bet someone knows.

Midnight Pearl / Brilliant Silver Pearl
I've had my Midnight Pearl / Brilliant Silver Pearl Limited for about 5 weeks now. Most of the time it looks black, but does have blue metal flakes in it. Here is a photo I took this past weekend. You can clearly see the difference between the paint and the inside faring, the lowers, and the backrest. The bike is looking blue in this photo, although the blue sky does put a blue cast on shiny objects like paint. Even black bikes look blue in outdoor shots if the sky is clear.
I don't know. I guess it can be what you want it to be. I can't decided either, and I own one!
