Dogs on Motorcycles

I saw a guy and his wife (in their 70's) riding an Ultra a couple of years ago.
They had cut an opening in the top of the Tour Pac and fitted a small windshield in front.
Then lined the inside with sheepskin and foam for 'Harley' their Yorkie Terrier.
To keep him from falling, or jumping out they put a harness on the dog upside down and clipped it to a ring bolted through the bottom.
When I talked to them about it they told me the dog just curled up in the bottom but popped its head up to check out every car or truck that passed them.
If you can get your dog to get on your bike while its running, I say go for it.
Both of my 10lb. Poodles are a bit too suspisious of my bike to get them on or anywhere near it if its running.
Every time I start it up they just bark at it a couple of times then run for cover.

please consider www.beastriders.com My 10 lb weiner dog has logged more than 10,000 miles across 5 different States on his Beastrider carrier. IMHO it is simply the BEST way to carry a pooch on your Harley. The Beastrider straps onto the back seat or luggage rack of your bike and your dog wears a harness that securely straps him into the carrier. The seat is sturdy and will last a lifetime. Very handsome looking leather and sheepskin and looks good on a bike, not like some cheap plastic milk crate that is uncomfortable and unsafe for your pet. It is a tad on the expensive side but then, quality always is, isn't it?
