I keep renewing mine every year. I pay the extra $49.00 for Ultra Plus through Road America. It covers unlimited towing for 3 cars and 2 bikes. I've had my car towed twice last year which cost me 0. Being in Canada the Road America deal is better than anything I can get for my bike that I know of. All my pins and patches are in a drawer, pretty soon I'll need another drawer.

I vote yes. I'm also a member of the local group. We do things almost every weekend. Just got done with a Progressive Dinner Ride with about 50 bikes. The "Ride For a Reason" consisted of 2,100 bikes. It is not uncommon to get 50 to 150 bikes together for a ride. Next week's "Axmen," (professional firefighters assoc), ride should easily get 1 to 2 hundred together for a police escorted pack ride which includes food and band. I wave at bikes because I probably know the person.

Allstate gives me a discount for being a member of a MC group. Only a specific few qualify.

From an allstate web page: Save 10%* if you belong to the American Motorcycle Association, BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, Gold Wing Touring or Road Riders Association, Harley Owners Group, Honda Riders Club of America, Motorcycle Safety Foundation, or Motorcycle Touring Association.

I converted to "Life Member" back some years ago, when it was offered for a one time payment. For about 15 years I was very active in a very active local chapter (served as road captain, etc.). Changing life priorities have lessened my level of participation in the local chapter over the past 6-7 years, but I hope to get back into it, so I maintain my local membership, too. I had a lot of fun and made many good friends while I was "in".

Like any organization or club, it's what you make of it, and how much you're willing to contribute.

A lot depends on the local chapter. Ours sucks. A combination of old head "I'm trying to prove that I'm badder than you, ****ed more women than you, smoked more weed than you, ride more miles than you," and idiots. But, I still pay my dues for crapper reading material.
