Lubeing cables

Just sitting here wondering how often you all lube your throttle and clutch cables? It's a very slow day

oldgeezer 08-03-2011 12:45 PM

I do ours about every other oil change and use dry slide.

Dry slide is good stuff. Bottle last forever.

Honestly never have done it.

I do mine twice a year, in the spring and in the fall.

I do the throttle cables every other service so about every 20k. I've never done the clutch cable. Couldn't find it listed in the manual and I'm not about to lube it with the stuff I do the throttle cables with (Bel-ray 6 in 1).

Once a yr, which is about 10k when I change out the rear tire.

Me neither, guess I should some day...

I don't have throttle cables, (throttle by wire) and I don't lube my clutch cable on this bike. Too many friends who have, end up with cable binding issues. I do lube the lever pins with a little lithium grease twice a year.

I never lube the cables and have never had an issue, the bike has almost 20k on it. I think they have been lubed at some point, but not by me.
