Trip update -- flat tire today
Hey everyone
Nice trip so far. Rode 3800 miles last week. Went from the Gulf Coast in Alabama across I-10 to Hammond and up through Arkansas Scenic 7. Cut across Route 66 from Springfield to Chicago. Visited the Harley Museum and cruised around Lake Michigan over the Mackinac Bridge and down through the highlands. 119 along the lake by Good Hart is awesome. Rode around Lake Superior. Took US 2 out west. Got a flat in Malta Montana. I'm towing to Great Falls for a new tire in the morning. What do you do when the rear goes at 70 besides holding on? |
:icon_eek: I don't know, but apparently what ever you did worked. :icon_toast:
I'd be more worried about the front, but I'm sure neither going flat at 70 is a good thing. |

press forward on both handlegrips at the same time and very slowly apply front brake only and downshift through the gears until you come to a safe stop using mostly engine braking.
|
I had a flat five years ago doing 90 passing a semi with the old lady on the back. It didnt seem like it was as bad. Guess the road has something to do with it.

Cool trip. Wore out back tire or road hazard?
