Cost of Insurance
Hi all,
I'm interested in what it costs for insuring a Harley. My insurance company quoted me about $1500/yr for a new HD Dyna. Before you gasp in horror, I live in Massachusetts! Need I say more. What's worse is that the rates in this state are set by the state insurance commisioner. No competition.
So what does everybody pay? And in which state is your bike registered?
Mike

RE: Cost of Insurance
You're gettin' RIPPED brother...I'm living in Denver and I pay less than half that for full coverage on my '06 Standard. I'm going through the same insurance company/agent that covers my house and my three cars and my driving record is excellent so that might play in...you're still paying too much IMO

36 Years old, clean driving record, no tickets, $365/year. This is full coverage, I think it is 50/100/300 coverage with Progressive Insurance. Automobile insurence companies will try to take you for every penny you have. I looked at the insurance co. that I have automobile insurance with when I bought my bike and they were outrageously piced. Get a quote from Progressive.

RE: Cost of Insurance
Insurance premiums paid will vary from person to person for the below reasons
1) Area in which live - more claims per capita, the higher the premiums
2) Credit Score - if you have a higher credit score, you are viewed as more "responsible" and have a less likely chance to file a claim
3) The options of coverage you select and your deductibles
4) Driving record
5) Motorcycle Safety Course ?? - Some companies actually give a discount to those that have certification that they attended.
I am not sure if I left anything out

P.S. I'm surprised in the liberal left state of Mass. , home of Chappaquidik Ted and Lurch Kerry where you pay more in taxes then you make, that they even let you ride a cycle.LOL
