winter storage and battery tender
Ok Winter is here and I won't be riding as often. The bikes will spend most of the time in my building in the back yard and ridden once or twice a week as long as there is no rain/snow/ice. The wife Sportster is cold blooded and hard to crank in the mornings already, do we need to get some type of battery tender and if we do is there one that can be used on two bikes at the same time. WE'll probably only go thur a tank of gas every couple of weeks, less if it snows so is there anything we should add to our gas? This is our first winter owning bikes so any help will be appreciated

RE: winter storage and battery tender
Get 2 tenders and an outlet strip. And put in fuel stabilizer. It will help for water in the gas.

one guy in here mentioned a breathable cover and putting a light bult in there on the florr, just enough heat to keep moisture out

I like the idea of keeping a small light on underneith the cover to keep moisture out.Have to look at doing that.

ORIGINAL: capnjim01 thanks, any brand of battery tender seem to work better that others? That plus a bit of Stabil in the gas tank. Should have fresh oil if it's going to sit all winter,in your case probably can compromise... RE: winter storage and battery tender
You can pick up battery tenders at wal mart for $15. Better then the $39 HD price tag.

RE: winter storage and battery tender
That is the best Battery Tender for the money without a dought T3. I have the Battery Tender Plus and just leave it hooked to my battery all winter. Works just great and it's cheap. Won't over charge the battery either;)
