Default Walnuts!

They are all over the roads in central PA right now. There is something unsettling about piles of walnuts, some whole, some smashed laying all over the road. They seem to always gather right in the middle of the curves. Haven't caused any real issues, but I imagine hitting a pile of them while leaning through a curve would be less than ideal. Also not real excited about taking one in the face as it drops from the tree.

At best they will stain anything they touch. Not a fan of walnuts... unless they are in some cookies. We have the little green tennis ***** here in Tennessee, too.

Funny, live here in central Pa also and was out riding yesterday and thinkiong the same thing as I see them on the road near here. And to keep my mind on these, I do have a walnut tree in my backyard to which I pickup at least 25 drywall buckets of them each fall.

Yeah we have them here in Ohio too and I did notice this fall there is alot of crap on th roads. we have had alot of rain the past week so that plays in the falling crap factor. Yeah hitting some walnuts ona lean would be about like hitting rocks= not good outcome.

Sue the city - they own the trees and should clean them up or just be careful. What a crummy way to crash skidding on a bunch of walnut shells.

LOL, I'm in Central PA also, and just yesterday I was in the truck when my daughter asked why I was swerving all over the road. I said, "Smashing walnuts." Those things freak me out when I'm on my bike, so I waffle 'em anytime I'm in the cage.

I hear that - in about a month, the State of Colo will dump a pile of sand on the road each time it snows 1/8".

This reminded me of an old buddy years ago.He put some walnut hulls in his sock and stained his foot, faked a sprained ankle to get out of an unpleasant family event. It left the ugliest yellow/green/black looking "bruise" you ever seen.He milked it for a week after the event also.He was a lowdown dirty ingenious b@stard.

Around here the last few years people steal the walnuts before they ever hit the ground. So it's not much of an issue.
