Ride with RUB's?

Do any of you that do not consider yourself to be a RUB ride with any RUB's?I have a friend that I consider a RUB as everytime I call him to go ride he has something else to do.Also he is a VERY fair weather rider. My boss is a RUB he bought a V-Rod 2 years ago with 1000mi. on it and it now has ALMOST 3000mi. I do ride with some other guys that I don't consider RUB's but we ride whenever we can on poker run's or just to ride.I guess my point is I just can't get a RUB to go out and ride with me or a group of us.

I have and will. They're no worse than long time riders that hotdog. I just stay behind everyone I'm not comfortable around.

Yes I will ride with anyone even metrics .I did not mean anything bad against RUB's but I just wondered if anyone rode with them but didn't think of themself as one.

Don't know any 'fair weather' riders. My cousin is rich, but he has an Aero and is using it for work conveyance, so he is not a true RUB. I'm an UMR (Upper Middleclass Redneck). :D

Yeah, just give tham a wide berth! [&:]

I have friends who some would call RUBS. Heck, I'll bet a lot of people call me a RUB (I wear some H-D branded stuff), though I don't have enough money to fulfill the "Rich" part! :D

The trouble is...just "what" makes a person a RUB?

Labels! Never really like them when talking about people. If you like to ride with a person chances are they will be a friend or will soon become one. Not a label just a person.

My two cents.

Yea, I'd like to know that too. What exactly is a RUB? A person who might have the will but doesn't have the time. I think I'm one of those then. Dagnabit!

Don't particualily care for labels, because I think people are a lot more complicated to fall under any catagory that includes always or never. There's no such thing as always or never.

Man I didn't want to make everyone mad with labels and such.I don't make the labels but they are out there reguardless .Everybody gets a label sometime in thier life.Biker,Rub ,young, old, man, woman, fag, dyke, prick, bit(h ...They are all labels you can't get away from them.

True, labels are a part of life but I don't make choices on what others label people.

Ask you friend when he wants to ride. Let him make the decision. Anyway the sun is shinning and it is supposed to get near 60 here today so I guess it is time to go for what may be my last ride for awhile. Looks like the weather is going into winter mode here latter this week.

I'll ride with anyone I know unless they make a complete idiot of themselves, then I choose not to ride with them again.

If real bikers had labeled me a "rub" I wouldn't have had the chance to go on a ride this Friday with a veteran motorcyclist. I'm a new rider with only about 1k miles logged since late July. However, I am a dispatcher who goes through multiple driver safety courses and teaches safety to my fleet. I take those same values on the ride with me.

211Chuck from the forums here allowed me to spend some time with him over his Thanksgiving Day vacation and we rode from Jacksonville down to Daytona to check out some of the old cars and coastal scenery. I had an excellent time and he gave me a few great tips for continued safe riding. If he had slapped a label on me from inexperience, that would have never happened.

Take the chance to ride with new people, they'll prove themselves or prove themselves idiots. Either way, you get another ride out of it! ;)
