Hi all, I need a bit of help with some info.

I would like to know which states require safety and/or emission inspections.

And for those states that do:
Do you have to have a sticker displayed on the bike?
Where is this sticker supposed to be affixed?
What is the approximate size of this sticker?

For instance, I live in Texas and we have safety inspections only.
The law says that the sticker must be displayed on the back of the bike near the tag.
The sticker is about 2"x1".

This info, any bit of it, will really help me out.

Dallas has the sticker, but my Bob is the first one to have a place for it. The others I do not allow the sticker to be stuck on, since that would mean the swingarm or frame and I'm not gumming them up. If I ever get stopped, I can show the page, but they will not get me to put the sticker on.

 

Here is mine, on the belt guard:

 

I put my Texas inspection sticker on a spare Streamliner brake pedal pad backer plate (the sticker just fits). Then mounted the plate on the empty sidecar attachment point on the right side of the frame. (check out pics in my photo album)

I never was hassled about the inspection sticker location while in Texas. We'll see what happens now that I'm an Okie...

 

Mississippi has an yearly inspection sticker. You carry it with you somewhere.....it's not waterproof (designed for inside of a windshield), and can't be exposed to the elements. I keep mine in my wallet.

 

Texas is supposed to have a plate above or below your liscence plate but many put them on the side or just find a place that can still be seen easily if they aremounted by your plate it will be less of a chance you will be pulled over for no reason
watch the law around Somersville as they will pull you over for uglyness in public ...........

This was the first year I had my shovel completely leagle in Teaxs and then I moved

 

New Hampshire:

Yearly state safety inspection, A sound level inspection 106db is the max to pass inspection and get a sticker. State inpection sticker is attached to the lower left fork approx a 1"x1" sticker. Mine will pass with SE Pro slip on's (the 98b ones )

 

Louisiana is the same as Mississippi.

 

Virginia has an annual safety inspection. The sticker goes on the left. It is about 2.5 x 2.5 inches.
