Couple battery tender questions

I just got my BT Junior today. I intend to use the ring terminals "permanently " attached to the bike as opposed to the alligator clips. When hooking this up, do I connect the negative to a point somewhere on the frame, or directly to the battery? Also, can I leave the seat (battery is under it) and cover on the bike, or do I need to be concerned about ventilation? The cover is one of those nice Harley ones. Came with the bike.

Hooked mine straight to the battery, no problems in 5 yrs.

Cover it, don't won't make a difference that I can think of.

Directly to the battery posts....and you can cover it, its really a trickle charge so there's no heavy duty heat or gas being generated. I use them on all my bikes for years.

BT Jr.

Hook the terminals directly to your battery. If your bike is a newer one it has a sealed battery (no fumes) so a cover is fine.

Cool. Thanks.

Ditto, direct to the battery.

Seat on the bike, no problem. The cover won't be a problem for the battery tender but it will hold moisture (even the ventilated covers do).

Yeah, I think I'm gonna stick a little fan under it.

On my '07 I threaded the pigtail through an existing hole and just pull it out when I need to hook it up (that's why it comes w/a connector cover.) With a sealed batt. any gases are pushed out through the batt. drain tube coming out by your rear wheel.

The Junior's been working fine for me. A few minutes of red light, then a minute of blinking, then a steady green lets you know you're good to go!

Regards,
Ken
