Schumacher attempts to put an end to the great debate:

Is this the final word?

No,

It's not the final word because there is always that one person that wants to provoke you into something stupid.

Good article though.

When I had a truck, I use to haul my motorcycle everywhere with me because,
1. I didn't have a garage
2. Someone tried to steal it even at my assigned covered parking spot.
3. If you wanted to steal it, you had to take my truck also.

sorry, but this won't end it........

I totally agree on the 90's era of being a fashion statement......kinda where it all started.

but need more than you can carry on your bike, and that calls for putting it on a trailer or in a toy hauler......nah.....that ain't gonna cut it. cos all you need is some clothes and your bike........ folks go around THE WORLD with nothing more than they can carry on their bike....... so it's not a "need"

and it's not the working man....... this working man has managed to 72k miles in 3 1/2 years.......

i think its more like this....... your either scared, or your not.... you either find excuses or you man up........

no one "needs" a RV base camp and you don't need a trailer to carry your tent/chairs/cooler and rations of other crap....

you may choose those things, and that is your choice......but a choice that screws your out of so much......

weather.........you best damn well learn to deal with it..... or keep putting yours on a trailer taking the ridicule....

well, thats my take on it......flame on

Either you ride or don't. Some are more hardcore than others. If you get your panties in a twist over what other grown men do then you're a poser yourself because you don't actually believe your own "freedom" bullshit.

Good article, but I'm afraid it won't end it. He sums it up best at the end:
"It's time for the motorcycle community to stop being so judgmental, and to start acting like a community of people who ride."

i will classify myself as a motorcycle enthusiast. i also enjoy fishing, hunting, and playing golf. motorcycling is not my life...i know i am not a biker. nor do i care for group rides or clubs. just let me ride on the days i feel like it-wave at me if you feel like it. picked up a 2012 e.g. classic last week and traded an '09 RK with 46k in on it. most of the guys that i do ride with are into wings and beemers. call yourselves anything you want to--JMO, most of us are motorcycle enthusiasts.

how bout this.......

a poser watches the weather channel and decides to ride or not.......

a "real" biker watches the weather channel and decides what he should wear......
