I ordered an engine guard for my Fat Boy from Harley. The guard installation holes did not quite line up with the install points on the bike. I had to squeeze the bar together with a ratchet strap to bolt it in place.
Is that normal? It was off probably 3/4 of an inch on both sides.
Thanks for the replies.
The bar was ordered through HD. Although the install instructions seemed to be written in part by Harley Davidson's China branch, I did follow them step by step. The box was not damaged on delivery, so if it was stepped on, it was before packaging. It was a pain in the dumper to get them lined up, but hopefully they will last. I may take it to the dealer to get it checked. The also sent the wrong size replacement bolt for the floorboard attachment so I had to re use the shorter original bolt.
