air temp sensor placement
Hve any of you moved the air temp sensor if so where did you place it I have a 2012 street glide.
|
Never re-positioned one but my 06 Street Glide was way off. By as much as 15 degrees. Got my 08 Ultra and it's as right on as one can get. I have no idea where the sensor is located. Didn't help a bit, did I?

Air temp useless.
That air temp is about useless to me. I can tell if it is cold or hot. IF I am blue...I am cold...red I am hot.
Just kidding. I replaced mine on my 12 limted with an oil temp gauge. My senor was on the left side of the steering neck...a little black box attached with a rivet to the steering neck. |
i was very supprised that my air temp guage was actually pretty accurate. still thinking about replacing with a oil temp guage but i have the digital temp dipstick and so far its still working good.

About as accurate as a weather rock or a mood ring.

Mine's off by 15-20 degrees on any given moment...
I'm actually interested in replacing it with an air pressure gauge for my rear suspension. (one that would look close to OEM) It would be nice to adjust the pressure on the fly without the need to remove the saddlebag and hook up that stupid little hand pump. Anyone else done this? |
Best place to move it to is the top of your workbench. Worthless dribble that is there just to fill in a hole.

I check mine against Weatherbug and it appears to be spot on. Anybody know where the sensor is?
|
Maybe runs a couple of degrees high, but surprisingly it's pretty accurate.
