'99 Cam chain tensioner fix
I'm looking at an 99 superglide and wondering about upgrading the cam chain tensioner issue. Before 02 the SE kit still keeps the original silent chain, which can still wear.
Is there an andrews kit for these bikes that solves this problem?

I used Andrew's 21TW cams and the HD Screamin Eagle Hydraulic Cam Plate upgrade witch gets rid of the old style spring loaded tensioners, and replaces it with the newer hydraulic set up, and it includes a new high flow oil pump. Very, very happy with the upgrade and especially the cam. Don't miss that if you go this route you also need to buy '99 sprocket from Andrews, which is only required only on the '99 engines. Give Andrews a call if you have questions, there vere exceptionally helpful for me.
I also added new SE adjustable push rods for this job. Total cost with labor $1,400. Best money I have spent on my bike. I highly recommend it. Do a search on the Hydraulic tensioners. Ton of info on this site.

You can do a gear drive also. Just check and make sure the crank runout is .003 or less. I avhe the S/E in both of my 2002 bikes. Have not checked the bike with 76K recently but I will one of these months to see how it looks as I reused the chain.
On a Dyna I would recommend an Andrew's 37 over the 21. I had the 21 on my Dyna and it was okay but the 37 is much better for a light, spirited bike like the Dyna.
