A company already makes a liquid cooled twin. It has water jackets in the cylinders and heads. It's an S&S motor modified. I think orca rings a bell. They build some pretty serious stuff. 11 grand out the door for their smallest offering 113 iirc and 55 mpg highway.
I like the idea of a liquid cooled big twin. More tuning options and power output. I'm all for new tech if it costs me less at the pumps. But the old schoolers are resistant to change and progress, which is absolutely fine. I love them too. Just like I love old muscle cars, but the times are a changing.

i'm thinking the electraglide will make a return. the tank will be the battery and the bike will have a 100 mile range before it needs to be plugged in. glad i'll be dead in 30 or 40 years.

I think those that believe HD will push their unsuccessful v-rod engine into all the other models are sniffing paint. You couldn't give me a v-rod and expect me to park it in the garage. Butt ugly and doesn't sound right. HD has a tough row to hoe. Air cooled is what brought them to this point. Riders like myself have the disposable cash. My next Harley will be air cooled either bought new or used. I am not alone in these feelings and HD knows it.

Well I for one love the V-Rod. I love it's looks, it's power, and how it rides. I also like that so many go over 100k miles with no issues at all. If it were so unsuccessful I doubt they would be selling the 10th anniversary ones that they are selling this year. My last ride was a Road King and I liked that as well, but it felt like a stone pony compared to the VRSCSE. I wouldn't overlook a water cooled Harley touring bike if they came out with one. It would be a selling point, not a detractor in my book. I'm not hating on air cooled, just sayin.

Why would anyone that rides a Harley want to keep up with a goldwing? It embarrasses the goldwing riders when they get ignored at the restaurants and gas stations when there at Harley's around.

If and when liquid cooling comes along it will be to satisfy the EPA. It's getting nearly impossible to achieve the government mandated ultra lean AF ratios without running very hot.

I am honestly wondering what the next motor will be. Will it be a 3 cam like that goofy S&S X-Wedge, or what. Whats coming next?
