Harley Will Start Leasing Bikes Soon
Just got this from sales guy at the stealer. Has anybody heard this ? I'm thinking why not they do it with everything from cars to fire trucks. I just do'nt know if this guy was BS ing me.

I think he was BS'ing you. Harley wants full price from the sale, why would they go to leasing.

Harley Winter Dealers meeting is going on right now. I will ask some of the guys when they get back.
I don't see Harley's financial division setting up for handling lease returns, auction sales, etc. *IF* they could get an outside lender to step up, it could be possible. GE or one of the other larger leasing companies to carry the paper. I have spent most of my life in the auto/motorcycle industry and just don't see it happening in the current economic times. |
Pretty sure they've been leasing to police departments for years. I do understand that this isn't exactly the same thing.

When you lease the MFG actually sells the vehicle to a leasing Company so they get the full price for it.
